Safety and undo

Every change Frametide makes can be undone, in several ways. This page lists what the app changes, what it never touches, and every way back.

What Frametide changes#

  • Windows settings in the registry, e.g. game mode, scheduling and input settings.
  • Power plans and power settings.
  • Startup types of selected Windows services and scheduled tasks.
  • Network adapter settings.
  • Graphics driver settings through NVIDIA's, AMD's and Intel's official interfaces.
  • The refresh rate of a screen, only when you click Fix it.

Only settings from its own checked list, with values from that list. Every value is backed up before the first change.

What Frametide never does#

  • Change BIOS settings, overclock, or change voltages and RAM timings.
  • Inject into games, read or change game memory, or change game files.
  • Install drivers or services, or run in the background when closed.
  • Run code that the AI wrote: Claude only picks settings from the list.
  • Delete personal files (Cleanup only touches the leftover folders listed on its page).

Every way back#

To undoDo this
One settingTweaks → the setting → Undo.
Everything, back to before FrametideAI Presets → Back to my original settings, or Settings → Undo all changes. Some settings need a restart; the app says which. This works in the free version too.
A startup program you switched offCleanup → tick it again, or Task Manager → Startup apps → Enable.
A screen refresh rateClick Switch back in the confirmation, or wait 15 seconds. Later: Windows Settings → System → Display → Advanced display.
Anything, even without the appA Windows restore point, see below.

Windows restore points#

Before the first change, Frametide creates a Windows restore point. You can make another one at any time: Settings → Create a restore point now.

To use one: Start menu → type Create a restore point → System Restore → choose Frametide: before tweaks → Finish. It restores system settings; your files stay as they are.

NoteWindows limits restore points to one per 24 hours by default, and System Protection must be turned on for drive C:. If it's off, Frametide's message says so; your settings backups in the app work either way.

Your data#

Backups of your original settings, presets, test plans and results are stored only on your PC, in %LOCALAPPDATA%\FrametideData. Only what AI presets and the license check need goes to our server: hardware model names, setting values, your goal and game, and your license key. No names, files or serial numbers. Everything in detail: privacy policy.

Still stuck? Write to support@frametide.de with what you clicked, the exact message and, if the app showed an error, the file errors.log (Settings → Open data folder → logs).
